Don Warren N.D. is a 1984 graduate of the National College of Naturopathic medicine.
He has served in leadership roles within the profession including president of the Canadian
College of Naturopathic Medicine, president of the Council on Naturopathic Medical Education, the accrediting body for the naturopathic profession and was a founding member of the Academic Consortium for Complementary and Alternative Medicine He also served on an advisory panel for the U.S. Institute of Medicine (IOM) Committee on the Use of Complementary and Alternative Medicine by the American Public, and is presently a Senior Editor for the Foundations of Naturopathic Medicine Project. He served as Canadian principal investigator for the Rwanda Selenium Supplementation Clinical Trial in AIDS research in Kigali, Rwanda. Don retired from his naturopathic practice in Ottawa in 2017.
In 2017, Don was one of five doctors in Canada to receive the Dr. Rogers Prize’s Groundbreaker Award for Excellence in Complementary and Alternative Medicine from the Lotte and John Hecht Memorial Foundation.
After retiring, he and his wife Barbara moved from their 100 acre organic farm outside Ottawa, Canada to a wooded two-acre lot further out in the country close to several members of their family.
