Stephen P. Myers, ND, BMed, PhD (In Memoriam)
Professor Stephen Myers was a complementary medicine expert and commentator, joining NICM as an Adjunct Professor, spokesperson and member of the NICM Research Committee. He is recognized internationally as a leader in complementary medicine education and research.
Professor Myers was extensively involved with complementary medicine education at an undergraduate and postgraduate level in Australia for the past 25 years. He was also actively engaged in research in herbal medicine, nutraceuticals, therapeutic foods and in public health issues in complementary medicine.
In 2004, Professor Myers was awarded the prestigious Lady Cilento Award by the Complementary Healthcare Council for his significant and sustained contribution to the field of complementary medicine over many years.
Professor Myers acted as a consultant to industry, government and educational institutions on a broad range of issues involving natural medicine. He was on the editorial panel of three international peer review journals and left behind a wide portfolio of publications including books, book chapters, journal articles, research reports and invited presentations proceedings.
